Patterning Key in GstarCAD

Patterning Key is a software for fashion pattern design. Its main purpose is to incorporate all the power and accuracy of computer processing to the basic tasks of the pattern design: creation, digitized, adaptations, grading, printing, and marker making. Patterning Key uses like CAD support GstarCAD, which ensures a solid basis of calculation as well as the connection of Patterning Key with all sorts of peripherals (digitizers, plotters, cuts, etc.).

In GstarCAD8, users can invoke the most compatible commands in their preferred way; from menu, ribbon, toolbars, or command line (such as open, save, save as… and print etc.). Additionally, there are more comprehensive options within dialog boxes that make learning the software easier for new users.

Extendable Functional Zone

There are two interfaces in GstarCAD8 – 2D Drafting and Classic. You can switch between the two interfaces anytime with one click. Also, the default functional zone can be customized via tool bar menu according to users’ preference.

GstarCAD8 offers a non-switching user interface that is easier for users to switch between different ribbon/classic interfaces instead of having to restart the program. Users can change views, visual styles, viewports and other settings. The UI also has a familiar Command Line for those who are inclined to use it.

Analyzing Brand New UI of GstarCAD8

To most of the CAD users, the UI is the first look of a new program, and the entire experience would be impacted by the acceptance of UIs. GstarCAD8 is the newest product launched by Suzhou Gstarsoft. The UIs were upgraded and easier to switch between 2D Drafting and Classic UI.

Compatibility Testing of Brand New GstarCAD8

Compatibility of a CAD program is a key indicator of its performance measurement. To test the compatibility of GstarCAD8, DWG/DXF of AutoCAD 2013, DWS standard format files and multi-language applications were selected to be tested.

Multiple Language Application

As the international cooperation and communications become more and more popular, and many English speaking countries exists two languages or more, as a result, supporting multi-language is a great importance to a CAD program. It was proven that GstarCAD8 completely adapts multi-language application environment. For example, in the Chinese operation system, files name of French and Japanese all can be open and saved by GstarCAD8. So, users do not have to setup the region and language of operation system again when editing a different language drawing.

DWG/DXF of AutoCAD 2013

V2013 .dwg/.dxf is the exclusive file formats of AutoCAD2013 and AutoCAD2014. Few CAD programs are compatible with them on the market recently. However, V2013 .dwg/.dxf has already been supported by GstarCAD8 to realize the seamless compatibility.

DWS is one of the formats which can protect drawings provided by CAD programs. The test approved that GstarCAD8 is completely compatible with DWS files.
